TAN TIPS: 

1. The night before or NO LESS than 6 hrs prior to your appointment, shower/shave/wax/exfoliate the skin so that pores can close and skin can reset and be ready to soak up the spray tan. avoid oily sugar scrubs, dove products, and do not apply lotions, perfumes, or deodorant until after your first rinse. if you have to wear deodorant that day, be sure to wipe it off before i arrive for your spray.

2. pull out dark, loose fitting clothing to wear afterward. no jeans, leggings, bras, or socks. wear slides or flip flops if leaving the house while your tan is developing.

3. water is your enemy until your first rinse. take an umbrella and proper outerwear if going out into the rain. no washing your hands, doing dishes (sorry, honey), or giving the kids (or fur babies) a bath.

4. your first shower after your tan is developed is a quick rinse with no soap, just water. rubbing your hands over the skin gently to wash away all excess bronzers, no rubbing, only patting your skin dry with your towel, and immediately add lotion (Cocoa butter, shea butter, Hempz lotion). to hydrate and lock in your tan for longevity. avoid dove products for the entire length of your tan.

5. book your appointments 1-2 days before your event or travel (if possible) so that the tan has time to develop on the skin before rinsing. You can rinse our express tan in 1-3 hours if you have to tan the same day. please be aware that the full color from express tan will not be developed for another 12-24 hrs.

6. chlorine, hot tubs, long baths/showers, and massages will all lighten your tan faster. it is best if these are avoided. your color can be extended by incorporating a gradual self tanner on day 3-4.

7. always remove any excess tan before you get the next one. spray tans are not buildable and will not layer nicely or fade evenly. you can remove your tan by taking a long hot bath or shower, soaking in oils etc, and using a tan removing mitt to exfoliate the dead skin cells off. if you do not have a tan removing mitt, you will have better luck with a washcloth than you will with a loofah.
